People scavenging at the Kupferberg dumping site outside Windhoek are demanding cash for work from government.

They say the program for which government has registered them does not meet their essential needs and they thus prefer working for money.

Today, part of the group marched to the office of the Deputy Prime Minister to request government to seriously look into their plight.

The Deputy Prime Minister, who has been dealing with the Kupferberg issue, said his office understood the group’s need for cash for work but needed some time to deal with the their request. Read original article
