More than 250 members from KKPKP, Stree Mukti Sanghatna and Kachra Kamgar Union, as well as members of Safai Sena and Chintan, along with thousands of workers, farmers, pensioners, slum dwellers and other underprivileged people gathered at Jantar Mantar, Delhi on December 2, 2014 to assert their economic and social rights. These include the rights to land, labor, employment, information, food, education, healthcare, pensions, the forests, and the rights of minorities and social rights. Reductions in health, food security and social sector spending was the context for mobilization by various social movements of the working poor.
