Global Strategic Workshop for Waste Pickers. Pune

Abstract

Waste pickers’ organizations from Africa, Latin America and Asia together with some allies will discuss different models of inclusion in municipal solid waste management systems and threats they are facing. The objective of this event is to develop an understanding of inclusive solid waste management models among the waste pickers, with a view to strengthen organizing efforts towards achieving them in cities across the world.


This workshop was hosted by SWaCH and KKPKP trade union of waste pickers in Pune, India, on behalf of the Global Alliance of Waste Pickers and with the support of WIEGO/Inclusive Cities and RedLacre.
