WPAU is led by a board. The Board is comprised of the President, two executive members/founders, a Board Secretary and treasurer and a director of Advocacy (Female - also staff member). The two founders are referred to as Executive members. One of the Executive members chairs the annual general meeting and the two are mandated to scrutinize elected personnel.
Objectives
The WPAU aims to develop the social welfare and human rights of waste pickers and to develop substantial strategies for the realization of waste pickers sustainable livelihoods.

The Waste Pickers Alliance Uganda (WPAU) is a grassroots organization that aims to develop the human rights and social welfare of waste pickers through advocating for policies that improve the working conditions and rights of garbage collectors and people who work on dump sites in Uganda.
