Organization Structure
Director and Deputy Director with four managers of waste campaign, research, air quality, and environmental health. All staff work on campaigns. Within the waste sector groundWork works on campaigns against incineration, pollution and contamination from industrial waste, and organizing waste pickers. It also conducts research on these issues. No formal structure or constitution but they are working on this. Each landfill (or street area) has a committee. Each province choses a provincial coordinator from amongst the waste pickers. The coordinators are the main decision making body. They meet by teleconference and from time to time in person. At least once per year there has been a larger meeting where representatives from each landfill attend.
