NAWACOM is an acronym of Nakuru Waste Collectors and Recyclers Management cooperative society. The organization was initiated in the year 2002 as an umbrella organization of community groups dealing with waste management and waste recycling, aiming at enhancing modern technologies on organic solid waste management. 0n 24th November, 2005 NAWACOM was transformed to an investment cooperative, currently the co-operative society and registered with the ministry of cooperative development and marketing. In year 2006, NAWACOM acquired a Go-down at Kenya Industrial Estate where production of Mazingira organic fertilizer takes has been taking place. The vision of NAWACOM is to be the leading community co-operative producing high quality, diversified and affordable waste recycled products in Kenya and the mission being the promotion of sustainable environment through producing high quality, diversified and affordable waste recycled products for the benefit of the community through improved livelihoods. Key of the products is eco friendly Mazingira organic fertilizer.
