Waste Pickers’ Education and Training

The courses presented on this page are an initiative of the Workers’ Education Subcommittee of the International Alliance of Waste Pickers (IAWP). They reflect our shared commitment to strengthening the skills, knowledge, and collective power of waste pickers around the world.

Some of these courses have been developed by the IAWP team, such as those focused on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), while others have been created by allies, including WIEGO and the Global Labour University (GLU). Together, they form part of the educational and capacity-building work plan of our Subcommittee.

In the near future, we hope to expand this collection and make it available in more of our affiliates’ languages, so that more workers can benefit from these tools. In the meantime, we invite all members and allies to explore and engage with these educational initiatives — developed by and for workers — as a step toward building more just, inclusive, and sustainable systems of work.
